T1 Tandem Pilot

Who can join

• Completed the P5 Experienced Pilot course at least 6 months ago
• Your P4 SIV training is no more than 2 years old (otherwise a new video-recorded SIV session is submitted)
• Suitable health and physical fitness

Practical training

• At least 50 flights: 5 with the instructor as pilot and you as passenger, 5 with you as pilot and the instructor as passenger, 40 with you as pilot and a P2–P5 pilot as passenger
• Passenger briefing and in-flight communication with the passenger
• Forward and reverse launches, flight and landing planning
• Wingovers, spiral dives, frontal collapses
• Precision landing technique with flare
• Flights from hills of at least 150 m, with at least 4 instructors
• Assessment: 4 flights with a THSF-authorised senior instructor

At the end

T1 Tandem Pilot: you can fly recreational tandem flights.
